Episode 24 - Justin Turner

It's just the two of us this week!  Justin and Kourtney share how their fantasy draft days went in their respective leagues, as well as some thoughts on the upcoming NFL season. Kourtney goes down the long road to explain how she pulled off a surprise for Justin's 10 year anniversary in the Major Leagues, with a few minor hiccups.  The duo discusses the impactful career of Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente and how the league honored him this season.  Justin reacts to his third Roberto Clemente Award nomination.

Episode 23 - Matthew Berry

Justin and Kourtney soak up all the fantasy football knowledge this week from ESPN senior fantasy football analyst, Matthew Berry.  They chat about how the pandemic could potentially affect the NFL season and how to prepare for it within your fantasy league.  Kourtney gives her best attempt to convince listeners to join a league, and shares some stories from her own experience as a commissioner for 9 years.  Justin reveals the unique way the Dodgers league decided their draft order this year. (Hint: It involves a golf club and a baseball field) The Turners pay their respects to some classic menu items that are riding off into the sunset at one of their favorite fast food joints.

Episode 22 - Michael Dubron

This week we're joined by Crew Chief, Michael Dubron, 29 year veteran firefighter paramedic with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, with 23 years in Air Operations.  He shares the path to his unique career that started with his service in the Air Force.  He gives tips to be prepared in the event of a natural disaster, including what you should always have next to your bed.  He reveals how a cancer diagnosis and a devastating prognosis led to the creation of his non-profit, Firefighter Cancer Support Network.  We learn what he misses the most about attending Dodger games this season, and we promise to do what we can to remedy it!

Episode 21 - Tori Murphy

Fellow baseball wife and non-profit founder, Tori Murphy, joins the pod this week.  She shares all the details of her foundation, Prom Series, whose mission is to curate a once in a lifetime experience for foster girls to build confidence and worth through a dress shopping night at the ballpark.  She discusses how plans changed due to Covid-19 and how Prom Series shifted to a Back to School drive that is still just as impactful.   The Turners also discuss some special milestones for the Dodgers and who was betting against the Lakers in this series.

Episode 20 - Phil Shin

Milestones and marathons!  Kourtney welcomes fellow 2021 LA Marathon Ambassador Phil Shin to the pod.  He shares his incredibly inspirational journey of how running literally saved his life following a liver cancer diagnosis.  Justin discusses reaching a special milestone in his baseball career, 1,000 hits, and the experience of a mostly empty stadium.  

Episode 19 - Alanna Rizzo

Alanna Rizzo joins the podcast this week!  Alanna, a member of the Sportsnet LA broadcasting team and founder of the Guidry's Guardian Foundation, will chat with us about how different her career looks during this unique season.  We'll talk about a unique fundraiser she held this past offseason, and her thoughts on fellow trailblazing women in sports.

Episode 18 - Chris Rose

Baseball has returned!  The Turners discuss what the baseball looked like during the first week of the season.  Kourtney offers the fan perspective of no fans in the stands, extra innings rules and all the feelings that come with watching baseball again.  Sports broadcaster and co-host of MLB Network’s Intentional Talk Chris Rose joins the show.  He’ll chat about the role he plays on IT, that famous IT Mojo, his love for Cleveland sports, some iconic sports movies, and we’ll get his thoughts on the 2020 MLB rule changes.  

Episode 17 - Dave Roberts

Opening Day 2020 is finally here so who better to have on the show this week than Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts?  He will share his journey to becoming a manager, his passion for wine, how he builds relationships with his players, life as a dad, if he ever questions his managerial decisions, what the quarantine was like for him and his family, his desire to spread positivity and if we're lucky, he'll share his signature cocktail recipe.  

 

 

 

 

Episode 16 - George Lombard

The Turners discuss the left fielder, Francisco 'Chico' Herrera, making web gems for the Dodgers during their intrasquad games.  Justin and Kourtney hosted a cast reunion for The Sandlot and they'll explain how it felt interacting with them all for a good cause.  Former MLB player and current Dodgers first base coach, George Lombard, joins the pod this week.  He shares how quarantine has allowed him to dive deeper into his family history, especially with his mother's role as a civil rights activist.  He shares his journey through baseball, how he got into coaching and provides some insight on the upcoming season.  We'll learn the unique ways he connects with players as a coach.  

Episode 15 - Jon SooHoo

Holding Kourt welcomes Los Angeles Dodgers Team Photographer, Jon SooHoo as a guest this week!  He is a fourth generation Chinese American and Los Angeles Native, as well as a graduate of John Marshall High School and the University of Southern California. We’ll hear all about his role in capturing some of the most iconic moments in LA sports.  Who caught his first pitch when the Dodgers honored him for 25 years as the team photographer?  What feared lefty did Jon once hire to shoot photos for The Daily Trojan?  What is his all-time favorite photograph he has shot?
